Here are a few notes gathered from the information taken from the Howard Elmore and Mable Prudence Watson History, by Alice R Harrington (Towle).
Later in life after Alice R Harrington (Towle) died and all the notes she kept throughout her life were turned over to her sister Ruth. After Ruth died, she passed those notes onto her daughter Jerri. I have obtained a copy of those notes. In those notes Alice identified Lillian’s last name as Lake. She stated the following in the notes:
“Mabel gave birth to Lillian Watson 04 Oct 1914. Her mother was ordered to give up her baby and refused and left home”.
Lillian's full name on her birth record was listed as Lillian Watson. Her mother (Mabel) was only 16 years old when she gave birth to Lillian. This means that her mother was not married at the time and Lillian took her mother’s maiden name. To this day no one knows who Lillian's true father was. If her stepbrothers and stepsisters knew anything about it, it was never talked about and when they were asked about it, they said they didn't know.
This means her last named should have been Lake. I could find not any other information or records on this.
After Mabel met and married Howard Elmore Towle in Jan 1920 Lillian later adopted the last name of Towle.

FREEPORT -- Alice T. Harrington, age 89, of Brunswick, passed away Oct. 14, 2010, at Freeport Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 31, 1921, a daughter of Mabel (Watson) and Howard Towle in Portland.
Alice attended Bridgton schools and was a member of one of the first graduating classes at the old Brunswick High School, formerly on McKeen Street.
After graduation, she was employed at F.W. Woolworth as a floor supervisor until her retirement.
In 1946, Alice married Byron 'Bud' Harrington and together they built their home in Brunswick. They traveled all the lower 48 states until Byron's passing in 1985.
She was a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and enjoyed knitting hats and mittens for craft shows and going to flea markets and yard sales. She was also a past member of the Topsham Grange.
Besides her husband, Alice is predeceased by one sister and four brothers. Survivors are her sisters, Ruth Driscoll of Brunswick, Dorothy Baker of Bowdoinham, a brother, Donald Towle and his wife, Lornia of Richmond; plus many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Bayview Cemetery, Bowdoinham. Alice Rebecca Towle lived.

After William divorced from Marion he found a male partner by the name of Robert "Bob" Skylar Dodson. Between Bud and Bob, they adopted three boys.
The first was Michael; he was brought to the U.S. just before the fall of Saigon, and placed in a group orphanage, before his adoption, in California. If you go on- line @Ancestry and type Michael Cam Dodson in York, PA, , born 1965, you will find school yearbook photos.
The other two who were Native Americans, Brian and Jerry.
Somehow Bud did not submit the adoption papers for Michael, but did for Brian and Jerry, even though Bud got Michael first.
Michael was subsequently given the name DODSON after Bud died. The other 2 boys were Jerry [I have no birth date, but he was married in 1992 in Maine] and Brian [born 1975, married in 1998 in Texas]. Michael was brought from Vietnam and placed in an orphanage in California. He was too young to remember exactly when and how he got to Pennsylvania.
Michael celebrates his birthday on February 1, [1965], as is the custom in Vietnam.
Somehow Bud did not submit the adoption papers for Michael, but did for Brian and Jerry, even though Bud got Michael first.
When it was discovered that he did not have any paperwork showing him as a TOWLE, that they were living in York, PA., and he was taken "to some office downtown where paperwork was created".
I know this is not clear, but this is where the story gets "sticky".
Evidently - Bud had a "partner" named Robert "Bob" Skylar DODSON - thus Mike's last name. When Bud died in 1978, after some period of time Bob met Bill MORTON, who had recently transferred employment to York from Erie, PA.
Bob was given a promotion contingent upon moving to Texas [he worked at that time for GTE, telephone company]. The pay scale was such that he could not refuse, and nothing was ever going to come along in York, close to it. Bob, Bill, and Mike packed up and moved. Bob had gone ahead, and started his new job, found, and purchased a beautiful home with a swimming pool in a good neighborhood, and left Bill and Mike there to pack and arrange the move.
Bud and Bob, then Bob and Bill, [then Bob died of cancer in Dallas], leaving Bill and Mike, then Bill died.
However, at one point Bill's sister moved from Erie, PA down to the home after Bob passed. She absolutely hated Mike, and when Bill died, he had signed everything over to her, which left Mike with nothing. When she took position of the property, she physically had Mike removed by the police, she then sold the property and moved back to Erie!!!
